This photo came from Josh Stone on the Appalachian Americans Facebook page. This delicious meal is easy to make. Cut up some cabbage and fry it in oil. Cut up some sausage and fry that. When both are mostly done combine them in one pan. Add some diced and friend onion or let your onion cook with the other ingredients. Some folks add bacon. I like to cook it 'til it's soft and greasy but still a little crunchy.
Creamed Chip Beef On Toast
You're going to need:
Some butter
At least 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
Maybe 2 cups of milks, or a bit less
One of those jars of dried beef that you can find in most supermarkets after a search
Some pepper
Toast
Heat your butter in a saucepan and add some flour and whip that up. Whisk in your milk a little at a time. You want to get this to a white gravy, so start with low heat and increase the heat and add the flour slowly. Get that to boiling and as thick as you like it. Add more milk if needed.
