Be The Church

"The church" does not have to be---should not be---an institution that we refer to separate from ourselves, from who we are. Are you dissatisfied with your church, unhappy there? Is it a place to show up because you find something there? A place to show up because you think that that's the right or respectable thing to do? Did the church do you wrong? Are you going to church for your kids? Let me offer another way to look at it: don't worry so much about appearances, take what is best in it and live that, start thinking of yourself as The Church walking around.

Psalm 50 In Aramaic: Have mercy on me, O God - ܪܲܚܸܡܥܠܲܝ ܐܲܠܵܗܵܐ ܐܲܝܟ݂ ܛܲܝܒ̇ܘܼܬ̣ܵܟ݂ (Lyric video)

Praying Psalm 50 in whole or part is helpful, and I recommend it. It helped me to hear it chanted in Aramaic. You can change language translations by hitting the "closed caption" button.
