Granny Or Memaw Rolls
You're going to need:
* 2 cups of scalded milk
* 1 cup of water with 2 packages of yeast
* 2 eggs
*Three-quarters-of-a-cup of sugar
* One-and-one-half-teaspoons of salt
* 6 cups of flour. You are going to make a soft dough.
* Vegetable oil
Boil your milk to the point where it's scalded and put your yeast in he water 'til it rises. Cool the milk and mix it with your yeast water. If you don't know what you're doing here, ask someone for help---I usually have to. Beat your eggs and add in your salt and sugar and stir that around. Add your flour to this until you have a soft dough, but do this slowly or in discreet amounts.
Leave what you have in your mixing bowl and pour over some vegetable oil, enough to cover it but not drown it. Let that rise and make it into rolls. If this is for company coming by, use a biscuit cutter and shape it nice. But if I'm making it for myself I just make small lumps, put them on a baking sheet touching one another, and I don't worry about it. Bake it at 400 and enjoy that wonderful smell!
